Job Posting: Postdoctoral Researcher (Long-term, open)

The PhotonMind team at Shanghai Jiao Tong University invites applications for Postdoctoral Researchers in the fields of physics, optics, materials, electronics, and information science. The team focuses on research and development of integrated photonic devices and chips to support the next generation of coherent optical communication and optical phased array systems. The team has access to advanced device testing equipment worth millions of RMB and works in collaboration with the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Center for Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices (AEMD) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.


I. Research Directions:

1. Photonic device fabrication process;

2. Silicon-based sub-wavelength structures and integrated devices;

3. Heterogeneous integrated photonic devices;

4. Multi-dimensional multiplexing high-capacity chips.

II. Requirements:

1. A background in integrated optics, nanophotonics, optoelectronic devices, optical engineering, physics, microelectronics, materials science, or a related field;

2. Good moral character and ability to work in a team environment;

3. Solid foundation in mathematics, electromagnetic fields, or optics;

4. Strong English reading and writing abilities, with published research papers in international academic journals as the first author.

Ⅲ.Salary and Benefits:

1. Annual salary of 240,000 RMB, with performance-based bonuses ranging from 60,000 to 160,000 RMB, based on research performance;

2. Social insurance and housing fund payments according to Chinese regulations; assistance in obtaining Shanghai residency and school enrollment for children (Postdoctoral researchers are equivalent to university staff);

3. Support for postdoctoral innovation talent programs, postdoctoral science fund projects, and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) young scholar projects.
